Mykonos Wedding | Vanessa & Peter
Escaping the Australian winter, Vanessa & Peter decided to come to Greece to celebrate their wedding. A good compromise between the bride wanting to have a wedding by the beach and the groom wanting a traditional Greek ceremony – and a good excuse for their guests to travel to beautiful Mykonos!
Blessed with the famous Greek blue sky, the day was bright with the iconic white-and-blue of the island complemented by the bold blue and orange flowers chosen for decoration. The day started with both the bride and groom getting ready at their hotel in Platis Yialos, providing stunning sea views over the Aegean. They then made their way individually to Panagia Paraportiani in Mykonos town. In the shade of this beautiful church is where they had their “first look” with Peter seeing his bride-to-be for the first time.
Leaving the hustle and bustle of the town centre behind, we headed to Agios Sostis beach for the ceremony at the little chapel next to the water. As the sun set behind the couple, they said their “I do’s” and celebrated with some traditional Greek dancing (music provided by the live musicians) before heading back to Platis Yialos for the reception dinner at Nammos. A great day, with a great couple – I wish you both a very, very long and happy marriage!
