Paros Post-Wedding Shoot | Anna & Alan
Anna and Alan recent got married in the Falklands Islands, but decided to come to Greece for their wedding photos. This choice comes from Anna’s love for the Greek Islands – so much so that she speaks the language fluently! Coming to Paros for their photos, we decided to split our time between the village of Lefkes and Agios Ioannis at Monastiri beach.
Lefkes is a traditional village in the mountains of the island, and also the starting point for the famous Byzantyne Walk. Especially Alan got a lot of attention walking through the little cobbled streets – I mean it is not often you see someone wearing a full Scottish Kilt in town! We were meandering through all the streets making our way to Agia Triada which is the main church in the village. A very imposing and beautiful church with its big pillars and arches. Leaving the church behind we made our way back to the cars and headed for the blue waters of the Aegean.
Agios Ioannis is probably one of my favourite spots on the island. Not only is it a beautiful traditional church with its blue dome, but its location on the water and the entrance to the nature reserve gives it really beautiful surroundings. Add to that the fact that you have easy access to the roof, makes it a photographer’s dream! (On a side note – during full moon you can see the sunset and moonrise at the same time from the church’s roof, which is something quite special). As you can see from the photos, we spent quite a bit of time at the church and surroundings, as we waited to end our shoot with the sunset. Enjoy the photos!
